Winter Indoor Coaching is back!

Art of Cycling's unique winter indoor coaching program provides progressive fitness training along with guided instruction to improve every aspect of your climbing.

We are pleased to offer our Indoor Climbing Camp classes at Ride Brooklyn and Tailwind Endurance in February and March 2019.

  • Brooklyn classes take place on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30pm.
  • Manhattan classes take place on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:45pm.
February 2019: Indoor Climbing Camp Part 1

Ready to get in shape for elevation gain? Art of Cycling’s Indoor Climbing Camp features targeted coaching and workouts designed to turn you into a skilled, confident, and efficient climber. Each session includes a short lecture that explains core concepts and how you can apply them to hone your technique. We will also discuss heart rate, power, and cadence as it relates to climbing, and how you can use these metrics to your advantage. Workouts are written to train the energy systems required for efficient climbing, and each athlete will work in their own zones. Topics include: pacing, biomechanics, and intervals to improve strength and form on the bike. Appropriate for all-levels, from beginner through advanced.

Indoor Climbing Camp continues with more all-levels options for cyclists to improve their knowledge and fitness in a supportive learning environment. Art of Cycling coaches deliver targeted workouts along detailed instruction designed to turn you into an efficient and powerful climber. Each session includes a short lecture to explain core concepts. A baseline understanding of heart rate and power training is helpful but not required. Workouts will be written to produce a training response for efficient climbing and each athlete will work in their own zones. Topics include: pacing, biomechanics, and intervals to improve strength and form on the bike. Appropriate for all-levels, from beginner through advanced.

($150/person, 7:30-8:30pm)

Indoor Climbing Camp Part 2: March 5, 12, 19, 26

Brooklyn classes take place at Ride Brooklyn's computrainer studio (468 Bergen Street). Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes beforehand for set up. Showers and hand towels are provided. Bike storage is available for $40 per month. Sign up at the front desk when you arrive. Located right on the 2/3 subway line at Bergen Street, and 0.2 miles from Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center. There is street parking as well.

Ride Brooklyn offers discounts on accessories, tune-ups, and bike fitting services to Art of Cycling class participants.

Tailwind Endurance (Wednesdays)

($160/person, 7:30-8:45pm)

Manhattan classes take place at Tailwind Endurance (143 W 72nd St, New York, NY 10023).  Located right off the 2/3 subway line at 72nd Street on the Upper West Side. Amenities include two showers, two bathrooms, lockers, water, and stretching area. Bike storage is available for $95 per month. Sign up at the front desk when you arrive. Bike service is available through VeloFix.

Tailwind offers 50% off class cards when you register for one of the programs. The regular price is $320 for 10 classes (yours for $160). Sign up at the front desk.

Equipment

Required

- Road bike in good working condition that fits you well
- Heart rate monitor
- Cycling computer with cadence sensor
- Two water bottles with your choice of hydration
- Post-ride nutrition as required

Recommended

- Clipless pedal system
- Stationary trainer or rollers for home workouts
- Power meter

Policies

Your registration is complete and spot held in the class when we receive the sign-up form below along with payment. Your payment is fully refundable if you cancel at least 14-days in advance of the first session. Your payment is 50% refundable if you cancel 7-days in advance. Refunds are subject to a 10% administrative fee. Winter classes are capped and typically have a waiting list. We're happy to issue a full refund if we can fill your spot.
