Winter Indoor Group Coaching Classes

Join us for focused, progressive indoor cycling training sessions designed to prepare you for success in 2018.

Training with Metrics (January)

January 9th, 16th, 23rd 30th (Tuesdays)

7:30-8:30pm (Sold out - in session)

$150/person

This 4-week series will review foundational principles for training with heart rate, power, and rate of perceived exertion. Designed for cyclists who want to learn more about structured training principles, and deepen their understanding of how to use metrics to achieve fitness goals. The series starts with a guided power/heart rate test where coaches will explain the process in detail. Each week thereafter, specific structured interval workouts will be created with the goal of building aerobic endurance and capacity. We will also provide guidance and drills to identify and address issues with biomechanics, pedal stroke, and cadence. Appropriate for all-levels of cyclists, from beginner through advanced.

Format:
15-minutes lecture, 45-minutes coached workout.

Indoor Climbing Camp Part 1 (February)

February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th (Tuesdays)

Ready to get in shape for elevation gain? Come to our climbing camp and get targeted workouts designed to turn you into an efficient and powerful climber.A baseline understanding of heart rate and power training is helpful, but not required. Each session will be 60-minutes of riding. Workouts will be written specifically to produce a training response for efficient climbing, and each athlete will work in their own zones.  "Training with Metrics" is encouraged as a prerequisite to this class. Topics include: pacing, body mechanics for climbing, and drills/intervals to improve strength and form on the bike. Appropriate for all-levels of cyclists, from beginner through advanced.

Format:
60-minutes coached workout.

March 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th (Tuesdays)

Indoor Climbing Camp continues with more all-levels options for cyclists to improve their knowledge and fitness in a supportive learning environment. Art of Cycling coaches deliver targeted workouts designed to turn you into an efficient and powerful climber. A baseline understanding of heart rate and power training is helpful, but not required. Each session will be 60-minutes of riding. Workouts will be written specifically to produce a training response for efficient climbing, and each athlete will work in their own zones. Topics include: pacing, body mechanics for climbing, and intervals to improve strength and form on the bike. Appropriate for all-levels of cyclists, from beginner through advanced.

Format:
60-minutes coached workout.

Consultation

Included in each series is one 20-minute consultation to answer your questions about pacing, metrics, and personal goals.

Location

Classes take place at Ride Brooklyn's computrainer studio (468 Bergen St., Brooklyn, NY 11217). Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes beforehand for set up. Showers and hand towels are provided. Bike storage is available. Located right on the 2/3 subway line at Bergen Street, and 0.2 miles from Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center. There is street parking as well.

Required equipment

- Road bike
- Cycling computer with cadence sensor
- Heart rate monitor
- Two water bottles with sports drink
- Post-ride nutrition as required

Recommended equipment

- Clipless pedal system
- Stationary trainer for home workouts

Registration / Refund policy / Waiting List 

Registration is taken on a first come, first served basis. Your registration is complete and spot held in the class when we receive the form below along with payment. Your payment is fully refundable if you cancel at least 14 days in advance of the first session. Your payment is 50% refundable if you cancel 7 days in advance. Refunds are subject to a 10% administrative fee. Most of our classes are capped and many have a waiting list. We're happy to issue a refund if we can fill your spot.
